Set up the Onorato parrot for my mom who lives alone and I finally sleep at night

My mom is 78, lives three states away, and has been resistant to every 'check-in' device we've tried because she says they make her feel monitored. The Onorato parrot is the first thing she's actually kept turned on and talks to daily, mostly because it just feels like a pet, not a surveillance camera with a personality.

It caught a fall risk moment last month — she'd been sitting still for way longer than usual and it pinged us before she even realized something felt off. That alert alone justified the entire cost for our family.

For anyone using something similar for an aging parent, did they take to it naturally or was there a getting-used-to-it period first?
