Brand & IP Takedown
Effective: August 9, 2026 · Last updated: August 9, 2026
Are you a brand owner and your product appears on MetaOriental without your involvement? This page is for you. Tell us and we will act. We do not require you to have a relationship with us, and we do not condition removal on you buying anything from us.
1. How we list products
1.1 MetaOriental publishes editorial coverage and product information about consumer AI hardware, including products from brands we have no relationship with. Coverage is based on publicly available information, our own testing and photography where we have the product, and publicly posted content on third-party platforms.
1.2 Two kinds of listing:
| Partner listing | Editorial listing | |
|---|---|---|
| Relationship | The brand has a written agreement with us | None |
| Brand logo and official assets | Used under written licence | Not used |
| Media | Brand-supplied or licensed | Official platform embeds, or our own photography |
| Commerce | Purchase available on MetaOriental | Link out to the brand or an authorized retailer only |
| Labels such as "Partner," "Official," "Authorized" | May be used | Never used |
| Paid placement | Possible, and labelled | Not available |
1.3 On an editorial listing we use the brand and product name only to identify the product. We do not claim, and do not intend to suggest, any affiliation with, sponsorship by, approval by, or endorsement from the brand owner.
1.4 We do not sell products on an editorial listing and do not take payment for them.
2. What you can ask us to do
| Request | Typical outcome |
|---|---|
| Correct product information | We update specifications, pricing, availability or claims |
| Remove specific media | We remove images or video and replace with official embeds or nothing |
| Remove a listing entirely | We take the product page down |
| Stop all coverage of your brand | We remove existing pages and suppress future automated inclusion |
| Remove a third-party post or review | Only where it breaches our rules — see Section 6 |
| Report an impersonation or counterfeit | We remove and may report to the platform or authorities |
| Become a partner listing | We send you the partner process — this is never a condition of removal |
Want the commercial conversation instead? Brands seeking authorization, an enhanced or official listing, licensed assets, tracked links or broader commercial cooperation can write to partnership@metaoriental.com. That is a separate track from this one: taking your product down is never conditioned on opening it, and you never have to talk to us commercially to get a removal.

4. What we do and how fast
| Step | Timing |
|---|---|
| Acknowledgement | Within 1 business day |
| Assessment and action on a clear request | Within 5 business days |
| Urgent matters — safety issue, recall, counterfeit, active consumer harm | We act first and investigate after. Mark the subject line "URGENT" |
| Written outcome to you | With the action taken and the URLs affected |
While we assess, we may remove or hide the material. We would rather take something down and put it back than leave a disputed listing up.
Acting is not admitting. Updating, disabling or removing content, or acting before we have finished assessing, is not an admission of liability, infringement, wrongdoing, or lack of rights by MetaOriental, and is not a determination about any third party's rights. We do it because a fast, low-friction remedy is worth more than being right about a disputed listing.
"Remove all coverage" requests are honored. We remove the existing pages, and we record your brand so the products are not reinstated by a later catalogue update. We may still report factually on newsworthy matters concerning your brand, which is protected commentary, not a listing.
5. Escalation and appeals
If you are not satisfied, escalate to legal@metaoriental.com with the subject "Escalation — Brand Takedown." A member of our legal function responds within 5 business days.
We may decline a request where: the use is plainly lawful nominative use to identify a product; the request seeks to suppress genuine consumer criticism; the requester has not shown authority to act; or the request seeks removal of factually accurate reporting. We will tell you why, in writing.
6. Consumer reviews and community posts
We do not remove genuine consumer reviews or community posts because a brand does not like them, and no commercial relationship changes that — the controlling statement of this rule is at Rankings & Editorial Methodology §1. See also the Reviews & Ratings Policy.
We will act where a post is: factually false about a verifiable matter and you provide evidence; infringing your copyright or trademark; impersonating your brand or staff; publishing your confidential information; or otherwise in breach of the Community Guidelines.
Using this channel to suppress lawful criticism may result in our declining to process further requests from you.
7. Trademark
7.1 We use brand names and product names to identify products — nominative use. We do not use brand logos, wordmark styling, packaging design or trade dress on editorial listings, and we do not use any label implying an official relationship.
7.2 If you believe a use goes beyond identification, tell us what is wrong and what you want changed. We will correct or remove.
7.3 We do not register domains, accounts or marks confusingly similar to any brand we cover.
8. Counterfeits and unauthorized sellers
Report counterfeits or unauthorized sellers to legal@metaoriental.com. We remove listings and links, may report to the destination platform or marketplace, and cooperate with brand-protection programs and authorities.
9. Preventive option
If you would prefer we never list your products without prior clearance, send a written request to legal@metaoriental.com and we will record your brand on our do-not-list register. It applies going forward across the catalogue, including to products added by a later catalogue update. Tell us the brand names and any sub-brands you want covered.
10. Records
We retain requests, our assessment, the action taken and related correspondence for at least three years.
