Law Enforcement & Legal Requests Guidelines

Effective: August 9, 2026 · Last updated: August 9, 2026

1. Where to send a request

All legal process and government requests: legal@metaoriental.com, subject line "Legal Request."

Postal service:

MetaOriental Technology Inc.
Attn: Legal — Legal Requests
61 W 62nd Street, 8H, New York, NY 10023

We do not accept legal process through customer support, community reports, social media or individual employees. Requests received elsewhere are routed here and are not treated as served until they reach this channel.

Acceptance of service through this channel does not waive any objection, including as to jurisdiction, form or validity.

2. What we require

Request typeWhat we require
Basic subscriber informationA valid subpoena or equivalent legal process
Non-content records — logs, IP addresses, transaction recordsA valid court order or equivalent
Content — posts, messages, stored communicationsA valid search warrant based on probable cause, or the account holder's lawful consent
Preservation requestA written request under 18 U.S.C. § 2703(f) identifying the account with specificity
Civil litigationA valid subpoena, proof of service on the affected user where required, and a reasonable response period
Foreign authorityProcess through a mutual legal assistance treaty, letters rogatory, or a mechanism valid under U.S. law

Every request must identify: the requesting agency or party and a verifiable official contact; the specific account, by username, email or URL — we do not process requests identifying an account only by a general description; the precise records sought; the legal authority; and a reasonable due date.

We construe requests narrowly and produce only what the legal process actually requires.

3. Notice to users

Our default is to notify the affected user before producing information, with a copy of the request, so they have an opportunity to object.

We will not give notice where: a court order or statute prohibits it; there is a genuine emergency involving a risk of death or serious physical injury; notice would be counterproductive because the account is compromised or fraudulent; or notice would create a risk to a child.

Non-disclosure requirements must be supported by a court order or a statute and must have a defined duration. We object to indefinite gag provisions.

4. Emergency requests

Where we believe in good faith that there is an emergency involving imminent danger of death or serious physical injury, we may disclose information necessary to prevent it, without legal process.

Send emergency requests to legal@metaoriental.com with the subject "EMERGENCY DISCLOSURE REQUEST", from an official government address, stating the nature of the emergency, the person at risk, why the information is needed to prevent harm, and why there is no time for legal process.

We assess each emergency request on its facts. We do not treat "urgent" as equivalent to "emergency."

5. What we hold

We may hold: account registration information; profile and public content; posts, reviews and community activity; order and transaction records where a purchase was made through the Service; creator task and attribution records; device and log data; consent records; and support correspondence.

We do not hold payment card numbers, which are held by our payment processors, and we do not hold information we never collected — including precise geolocation and biometric data.

Retention limits what we can produce. We retain information as described in the Privacy Policy §9. We will not create records that do not exist, and we do not begin collecting new categories of information in response to a request.

6. How we respond

  1. Verify that the request is authentic and comes from an authorized official or party.
  2. Review it for legal sufficiency, scope and jurisdiction.
  3. Object to, narrow or seek clarification of requests that are overbroad, vague, unduly burdensome, legally defective, or that seek information disproportionate to the stated purpose.
  4. Notify the affected user unless prohibited or excepted under Section 3.
  5. Produce only responsive records.
  6. Log the request, our assessment, our response and the records produced.

Typical response time: 10 to 30 business days, depending on scope. Emergency requests are handled immediately.

7. Cost reimbursement

We may seek reimbursement of reasonable costs for responding, as permitted by law, particularly for burdensome civil requests.

8. What we will not do

  • Provide information without valid legal process, except in a genuine emergency under Section 4.
  • Provide content in response to a subpoena alone.
  • Provide information about accounts we cannot specifically identify.
  • Conduct new surveillance, enable new logging, or build new collection capability in response to a request.
  • Provide bulk or indiscriminate access to user data.
  • Agree to an indefinite non-disclosure obligation without a supporting order or statute.
  • Comply with a foreign request that would require us to violate U.S. law.

9. Users: what to do if you are notified

If we notify you of a request concerning your account, you may seek legal advice and file a motion to quash or a protective order in the appropriate court. We will provide a reasonable period — normally at least 14 days where circumstances permit — before producing records, so that you have a genuine opportunity to object.

10. Transparency

We intend to publish periodic aggregate figures on the number and type of requests received and how we responded, to the extent permitted by law.
