Where to buy Reachy Mini

Hugging Face and Pollen Robotics sell Reachy Mini through their own store, and MetaOriental links there rather than shipping it. Reachy Mini Lite costs $299.00 and the Wireless version around $449. The Lite needs an external computer; the Wireless has a Raspberry Pi onboard and Wi-Fi, which is the difference worth paying for if it will not live beside a laptop.

Who Reachy Mini is for

Reachy Mini is a development platform rather than a companion — it is open source and programmed in Python, with JavaScript and Scratch planned. It suits researchers, students and developers working on human-robot interaction who want real hardware without a research budget. Coming from Hugging Face, it plugs into the model ecosystem most AI developers already use.

Is Reachy Mini worth $299.00?

At $299.00 for the Lite, Reachy Mini is among the cheapest ways to get a programmable expressive robot on a desk, and open source means you are not locked out of your own hardware. It does nothing on its own, which is the point and also the reason it is wrong as a gift. Budget for the Wireless if you want it to work untethered, because the Lite's external-computer requirement changes where it can live.
