The glasses listen to the room, separate speech from the noise around it as it happens, and amplify it to compensate for the wearer's hearing loss. Legato says the processing runs on the glasses themselves, with no cameras and no recording, and the same frame takes prescription or progressive reader lenses.

Directional microphones use beamforming to favor sound coming from in front of the wearer, and open-ear speakers built into the temples play the amplified result without plugging the ear. EssilorLuxottica rates a charge at about 10 hours and puts a power switch and volume buttons on the temples themselves.

Each ear cup stacks three drivers: a 40 mm dynamic for bass, a 13 x 8 mm dynamic for the middle, and a solid-state xMEMS tweeter on top. Ten microphones feed a cancelation system Nothing rates at up to 46 dB and describes as adaptive, switching modes on its own from a real-time read of the surroundings.

Twelve EEG sensors are woven into the ear pads and read brain activity while the headphones play. The app turns that signal into eight measures, among them a Brain Battery reading, shifts the audio when focus drifts, and prompts a break when it detects fatigue.

Nine Class-D amplifiers drive five tweeters and four low-profile woofers, with two of the tweeters firing upward into a directional horn for Dolby Atmos height. Sonos's AI Speech Enhancement detects human voices in the mix and raises them against the rest of the soundtrack, at four levels chosen in the app, and Trueplay measures the room's acoustics and retunes the EQ to it.

A panel on top of the housing recharges the battery, and Arlo says about two hours of direct sun a day keeps it going, while the 14,790 mAh cell is rated for up to six months with no sun at all. It shoots 2K across a 130-degree view with a white LED spotlight for color at night, and on a Secure plan the alerts separate people from packages and vehicles.

A 360-degree LiDAR turret maps the home and Shark's SmartPath Max routine walks it along rows instead of letting it wander. It vacuums and mops in the same pass, senses the floor type underneath and changes suction to keep carpets and rugs dry, and returns to a bagless base that holds up to 60 days of debris.

Ten microphones read the surroundings and the adaptive cancelation filters them in real time. One press pulls whatever a Sonos speaker is playing onto the headphones and another sends it back, and TrueCinema adapts television sound to the shape of the room. Sonos rates the battery at up to 35 hours with cancelation on.

Four microphones, two on each bud, continuously monitor the sound around you and work against it — the system Bose calls QuietControl. There is no battery at all: the earbuds draw power over the 4.2-foot USB-C cable from whatever they are plugged into, and a button on the in-line remote steps between Quiet, Aware and off.

A band with no screen that reads heart rate, heart-rate variability, blood oxygen and stress through the day and folds them into one daily score. It recognizes activity on its own across 54 modes, runs 12-plus days between charges, and QALO puts none of the readings behind a subscription.
