New & Next

What just landed, what's about to, and what you can finally buy.

Ghost Core

OCT 31, 2026

Ghost Core

Screenless box that runs AI models at home

$3499

Four models sit on the machine itself, so the agent can read your files, calendar and connected devices without handing any of it to a model provider, and Ghost says it keeps working in the background rather than waiting to be asked. The 24GB RTX Pro 4000 Blackwell inside is the ceiling on how large a model it can hold, and $3,499 is the whole cost; Ghost attaches no subscription. Its own product page now reads sold out with the first batch shipping October 31, so what is open today is an interest list for a second batch with no date on it.

Persona Band

DECEMBER 2026

Persona Band

Wrist wearable that makes the calls for you

$179

There is no screen: two microphones take the task out loud, a ring of light shows that it heard you, started and finished, and you approve the action with a tap or a word. Persona lists the band at $219 and is charging $179, a pre-order price it says is locked for early orders, with — in its own words — no subscription attached to the band. It holds two days of work on board with no phone nearby, runs three days on a charge, and Persona says it ships in December.

XREAL AURA

FALL 2026

XREAL AURA

Android XR glasses with a pocket compute puck

$1279

Compute moves off your face and onto a tethered puck, which is how the glasses land at 3.4 oz (95 g) while still carrying two world-facing tracking cameras, hand tracking and a camera with a privacy light feeding what XREAL calls real-time AI perception into Gemini. The lenses dim electrochromically through five levels so the 70-degree see-through display survives daylight. XREAL now lists $1,279 for the 12GB/256GB model and $1,499 for 16GB/512GB, but calls pricing not final and promises only that the base model will not pass $1,500; it also says plainly that this is a refundable reservation and not a pre-order, and commits to nothing tighter than fall 2026.

Ring Smart Lock

EARLY 2027

Ring Smart Lock

Deadbolt you can hand-crank back to life

Price not announced

A power dial on the face winds charge back into a dead lock, which retires the backup key the rest of the category still leans on. The fingerprint reader decides at the door rather than over your network, and remote locking, status and PIN syncing travel over Amazon Sidewalk instead of your home Wi-Fi, so a dropped router does not take the keypad with it. Amazon publishes no price, says early 2027 for the US, and discloses on the same page that the lock has not been FCC-authorized and cannot be sold until it is.

How we pick

What this ranking is, and what it is not.

The whole market, not our shelf
Entries are consumer AI and smart-living devices from anywhere. Most of them are products we do not sell.
An editor decides the order
Positions come from an editor reading the week's coverage. There is no score and no formula behind them.
Platforms are read separately
We look at YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X and Reddit. Numbers from different platforms are never added together.
Published weekly, then frozen
A week runs Friday to Friday in America/Los_Angeles and publishes on the closing Friday. Once published, a past week is never recalculated.
